I know
On this page you will find things that I remember and things I know. At 51, I am so Thankful for my God, my son, my family and friends. You might be old enough to remember some of these things! ~ I remember when we said a Prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance every morning before school. And I really think we need to put it back in schools! ~ I remember when we had to get UP to turn the channel on the TV! And I remember Black & White TV's! There were only 3 channels and it was fun to watch! ~ I remember getting up at 4am and working all day in tobacco with my Uncle Paul and my cousins. We were so tired when we finally got home from working all day but these are some of the best memories of my life! I love you Renee, Tammy and Lisa! ~ I remember sleeping 4 to a bed when we were little! We slept under 4 quilts and they were so heavy and warm but we could not turn over! Once you were in bed, you were warm and STILL! :-)
~ I remember watching Vietnam on TV every night when I was young. I love and respect all Veterans. ~ I remember when Gas Stations were not open on Sunday and when little stores were all there was. No Wal Mart and the like. Stores were only open Monday ~ Friday 6am ~ 5pm. I miss those days! ~ I've learned that if you have 2 or 3 good friends that have your back and will actually stand up for you, you are soooo blessed. I want more friends like that! ~ It really does take a whole Village to raise a child. ~ The Opelika Fire Department is full of my heros. Being raised a Fireman's daughter, I have the utmost respect and love for all the "ol' timers'! ~ I remember going out into my Uncle Paul's Watermelon field and busting a Watermelon by dropping it on the ground and sitting down in the shade and eating it! No fork and no salt! I haven't had a Watermelon that tasted that good since doing that! ~ I know I love my job! Being on my job full time for over 34 years, my workplace is just like home to me and my co workers are family. Thank you to the hospital for putting up with me for sooo long! ~ I know this and do abide by it. Don't ever judge someone by how they look. ~ I know there is a God. He's watching over me and is in my heart. ~ My brother Andy is watching over me from Heaven. ~ My Grannys Rebecca Browning and Doris Moseley are watching over me from Heaven. ~ Winding red clay dirt roads with tall pine trees are good for the soul. ~ I've learned that a ex husband can become a friend. Took me about 10 years to learn this one! :-) Thank you Warren for being there to help with all the little things I cannot do like rewiring the stove and fixing the outlets. You are a good "ex"! :-) ~ I know that a son and a mama have a bond that is almost touchable. I love you Bo! ~ I know :-) that my Chevy truck will go (slowly with me praying the whole way) over a big mound of dirt on a old wood bridge that is supposed to keep folks off it! And that my Daddy while sitting in the passenger seat ignores the sign that says "Do not use this bridge!" and expects me to do the same! ~ I know that it's possible for my old quarter horse to sit down on his rump with me on him! Bones is up in Heaven now chasing butterflies and eating all the fresh green grass that he wants! I love and miss you big man! ~ I know that I'm to trusting but I will continue to be that way. God made me this way and I'm happy! ~ Age is just not a number... I really do have aches and pains that I didn't used to have! :-) ~ I know there are usually spiders in Outhouses... really big spiders! :-) ~ I know my friend Beverly is up in Heaven still laughing at me for screaming when she let the BIG man in overalls open the Outhouse door on me! ~ I know one day I will see my bestest buddy Phyllis again... She's been missing now for 16 years. I love you girl! And I'm still looking for ya! ~ Tight jeans just ain't for me anymore! :-) ~ Big Southern Men with long beards, dirty overalls and a mouth full of chewing tobacco are some of the nicest and most respectful men you will ever meet! ~The Words written in red are very important to me. ~When you point your finger AT someone, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you! ~I miss you Curt. Thank you for the time we had together and I will see you in heaven. God needed a good mechanic and hopefully there are lots of big trucks up there! ~Family is the ONLY thing that no one here on earth can take away from you. You can lose your home, your truck, your business, your job and everything else but you cannot lose your family! I love mine!
